Ironman, here we come!

Confession time

Alright, time to be totally honest: I’ve been completely lax in my training lately. And in my blogging…where have those Motivational Mondays gone?

Running has kinda been at the back of my mind for the past month or so, and I’m…less than prepared for this marathon in May. I got hit with the flu a few weeks ago, and haven’t really been treating my body very well (not getting enough sleep, and the words “balanced diet” are jokes) so my most recent runs have been a lot less impressive than I was hoping for in the months before a race. I’m still excited to run it, but I’m not expecting a phenomenal finish.

So, even though I feel like the Flying Pig marathon is totally appropriate to my training fatigue,  I am psyched for my triathlon. The cycling part is…not easy, but now that the weather is better, I’ll be getting more bike workouts in. Hooray!

Running Injuries = no fun!

So I have to take a couple of weeks off of running till I can see the doc about the pain in my hip.  It’s been two weeks and even w/ reduced mileage to nothing, it’s still not getting better.  I’m hoping it’s not a stress fracture bc that would not be good.  This girl had a stress fracture in her hip, and she kept running.  This eventually led to her having screws put in her hip and being on crutches for awhile.  We’ll keep our fingers crossed and hope it’s nothing major!  Therefore, I must find some other kind of physical activity to partake in.  Maybe this is a good time to start up swimming!

Cold weather is ok. Colds? Not so much

Training has been interrupted due to my distinct inability to breathe consistently. Blah.
